Gayatri Mantra with Panduranga – Devaki and Harishakti

Panduranga, Devaki and Harishakti perform and chant the kirtan of the „Gayatri Mantra“. This is a very powerful mantra for the worship of the Divine radiant light. Gayatri represents the Divine Light, the mother of the Vedas and the wife of Brahma the Creator.
Thus we read: „Om, we want to look at the desirable radiance of Savitri. May He enlighten our understanding.“ Savitri represents the feminine part of the solar deity Surya, which symbolizes the divine, all-pervading levels of the light, Brahman.

Shivaya Parameshwaraya with Devadas – Satyadevi and Anandini

Devadas, Satyadevi und Anandini chant the kirtan „Shivaya Parameshwaraya“. The translation of this mantra into English : „I bow to Shiva, the Most High God, which carries the crescent moon on his forehead. I bow to Shiva, who created and destroyed through his dance the properties of nature (gunas).” If you like to sing this kirtan, you’ll find in the Yoga Vidya Kirtan Songbook as number 258.

In this recording Shiva is worship as the one, who gives us happiness and bliss. Om Namah Shivaya is a devotional greeting to Shiva, which is also used to greet your friends and other people – like „Namasté“ which means: „I greet the devine in you“. Devadas sings during a Yoga Vidya Satsang at Yoga Vidya Bad Meinberg the Maha Mantra – it is one of the best mantra to develop bliss and love. With this mantra you call God in its aspects as Hari (Vishnu), Rama and Krishna. Swami Sivananda appreciated this mantra beyond all measure and so in every Satsang of the Sivananda tradition is the Maha Mantra sung. You can find the Maha Mantra in the Yoga Vidya Kirtan Songbook as No. 2 as part of the Jaya Ganesha.

The name „Rama“ literally means „one who is pleased.“ Rama incarnated on Earth to establish justice and righteousness again. He is sure that we are what we are beginning to make as much as possible. Hanuman is Rama’s faithful follower, Sita is the wife of Rama.
